Cotton Ponte Knit Fabric with Geometric Retro Pattern
Cotton Ponte Knit fabric with a wonderful geometric, syncopated striped pattern in Red, Blue and Gray, all contrasting on a Navy Blue background.
We call this a Ponte and it mirrors its supple pull back and viscosity. That said it has a tad more meat in the hand (250 GSM). Lovely fluidity that couples beautifully with the weight of the fabric.
Dead stock from a knit mill in France, 92% Cotton/%6 Polyester/2% Elastic, 62″ wide.
A quite unusual look that could get quite creative with patterns. We love the basic Ponte patterns though and you let the pattern do the talking.
As one blogger put it: “Ponte is the perfect fabric to have a transformation from elegant to casual”.
Some patterns to exemplify that vibe of multi-occasion garments include the Mason Knit Jacket from Style Arc Patterns – oh what a great garment to make.
Also, try the Ines Knit dress, also from Style Arc Patterns – they have the ponte fabric patterns down pat.
Fabric Appropriate for also a wide range of Shirts/Tunics, straight pants or pleated skirts, wrap dresses – also jumpsuits. Try (again from Style Arc) the Carly Jumpsuit – which you may have to buy second hand because it is unavailable.
Finally a Tunic from Katherine Tilton – a semi fitted pull over – Butterick B6492
Price is per Yard.
