Cotton Sateen Fabric, Triple Peak Border Print, Tropical Vibe

Cotton Sateen fabric – a border print, White to a valley and peak Black silhouette base with tropical fauna. Sharp, detailed printing; pinks and blues, teal and other varying greens all stand out on the black background. Also a great contrast with the white.

Carte Blanche here to make this large scale border work – the repeat is 25 inches (3 peaks of Black, large peak to large peak is what we measured).

Bottom weight with a 2-Way stretch – 95% Cotton/5% Lycra, 54″ wide, 190 gsm (7 ounces). Made in Italy, designer dead stock from an NYC jobber.

Sateen is great because it is a basic cotton that is taken to another level with its lustrous finish.

Pattern Suggestions:

Butterick PDB6744 is a flared/pleated border skit that would work wonders. Even better, Vogue V1934, a collared dress that uses the border on the top and skirt. A tailored fit.

Also look at the vintage Vogue, V8789 with pleats and several variations.

Gertie has an awesome pattern from Butterick, PDB6484, with a Petticoat Ruffle.
