Cotton Voile Gingham Plaid Burnout Fabric
Cotton Blend Voile burnout fabric, a traditional gingham plaid pattern in Pastel Blue and White; a fil de coupe on the plaid edge.
Light weight, sheer in the square geometric portion, more drape than your average voile – Made in France, 58″ wide.
A burnout is a design where some parts of the design are left sheer, which accentuates the pattern. Voile is a light weight, sheer, stiffer fabric usually made of cotton, a cotton blend or Silk.
Fil Coupe is a weaving technique that produces a delicate, yet tactile fringe effect on the surface of the fabric.
Patterns: Perhaps a tired summer dress, like the Lucy Dress from By Hand London. Also, Daria Patterns has a few, e.g. their Sun Bell Skirt and Top. They also have a tired dress drafting guide.
Also see the Gallon Dress from Paradise Patterns.
A basic shirt or shirt would be lovely as well – we always go to the Vogue V1783. Perhaps also a lined version of the Vogue 1696.
Price is per Yard.
