Organza fabric, an embossed pattern in an iridescent Olive Green – its classic, “paisley-esque”. The shine gives a fashionable modern elegance.
Backed on a black sheer organza, the lifted pattern has a lot of depth and complexity without being over bearing. A lot of drape, 56″ wide.
Sourced from a big time designer in NYC, dead stock of course.
Synthetic blend. Drape, light/medium weight, sheer, 56″ wide.
It can be hard to pinpoint exactly what to use a lovely Organza Brocade for. You can narrow it down to formal wear of course – and we suggest having the mentality that one should treat organza jacquard like a dress, bottom or taffeta weight fabric (even though it is sheer). First of all, it can be lined and that will provide body. Secondly, its has the stiffness to hold flairs and pleats.
Thus, we suggest a few patterns that are outside the box.
A formal jacket would be the Burda Style Pattern 6041 Misses – Option B line. Simple enough to let the fabric do the talking/make the statement. In the same vein is the Vogue V1865.
The Lucy Dress from By Hand London has such a versatility to it in terms of what fabrics can be used. We love the look.
Kathryn Brenne has a lovely pattern Vogue 1746, a kimono jacket, loose fitting with a really cool pleated pair of pants. Some hacking may be involved because of the lifted pattern.
Vogue V9075 – gathered formal”ish” dress – Option A
