Organza Jacquard with Butterfly Pattern
Organza fabric with an unlikely contrast; a dark teal “threaded” base, with a marsupial textured lifted pattern in Purple, Red and Black. Unusual and dynamic, this piece hails form a top NYC designer – dead stock.
Synthetic blend. Drape, light/medium weight, sheer, 56″ wide.
It can be hard to pinpoint exactly what to use this exceptional organza for. You can narrow it down to formal wear of course – and we suggest having the mentality that one should treat organza jacquard like a dress, bottom or taffeta weight fabric (even though it is sheer). First of all, it can be lined and that will provide body. Secondly, its has the stiffness to hold flairs and pleats.
Thus, we suggest a few patterns that are outside the box.
A formal jacket would be the Burda Style Pattern 6041 Misses – Option B line
Vogue V1865 – could be a source for inspiration.
Kathryn Brenne has a lovely pattern Vogue 1746, a kimono jacket, loose fitting with a really cool pleated pair of pants. Some hacking may be involved because of the lifted pattern.
Vogue V9075 – gathered formal”ish” dress – Option A
Butterick B6639 – A and B are both great formal/cocktail dress options.
