Organza fabric in a rich Navy Blue with a lifted floral pattern that is outlined in an iridescent outline, a Polyester/Lurex blend.
A certain promising fluidity (more so than the average organza), medium weight. Perfect for a dress, skirt, jacket or gown, 54″ wide.
It can be hard to pinpoint exactly what to use this exceptional organza for. You can narrow it down to formal wear of course – and we suggest having the mentality that one should treat organza jacquard like a dress, bottom or taffeta weight fabric (even though it is sheer). First of all, it can be lined and that will provide body. Secondly, its has the stiffness to hold flairs and pleats.
Thus, we suggest a few patterns that are outside the box.
A formal jacket would be the Burda Style Pattern 6041 Misses – Option B line. Simple enough to let the fabric do the talking/make the statement. In the same vein is the Vogue V1865.
The Lucy Dress from By Hand London has such a versatility to it in terms of what fabrics can be used. We love the look.
Kathryn Brenne has a lovely pattern Vogue 1746, a kimono jacket, loose fitting with a really cool pleated pair of pants. Some hacking may be involved because of the lifted pattern.
Vogue V9075 – gathered formal”ish” dress – Option A
