Cotton Blend, Olive Green solid with an ever slight de-lustered sateen sheen. One of the more amazing fabrics we have come across.
Bottom weight is a term we sometimes use when we cannot quite put our finger on the exact classification – this fabric has the hand of a poplin, that rough smoothness. Medium but juicy hand, almost a stein but not as hefty. Lovely drape and a luxurious 2-way stretch. Not too heavy for a shirt, but also not too light to make a full suit.
It is perfect for pants, a dress/skirt, a button-up shirt or top. It could be used a suiting – we would love to see a jumpsuit, romper, a Shelby dress (via the True Bias patterns); a blanca flight suit (via Closet Core Patterns), Kelio Wrap Dress or overalls.
Its just basically perfect for any garment you make, and we have never had a fabric that literally checks every garment box. Its fascinating to be stumped.
With all that said, one of the most incredible qualities and perfect for basic staples or formal wear.
The blend is perfect because its enough Cotton to be breathable, but it wont over wrinkle due to the Polyester.
68% Cotton/28% Polyester/4% Lycra – the stretch is a generous 1 1/2 inches along the width (35%), 54″ wide.
Dead Stock from a designer in NYC, it was made for their line in an Italian mill.
