Jacquard fabric an intricate lifted floral pattern in Sky Blue and Green on a textured Black background.
Medium/heavy (really a suiting – 300 gsm) weight with drape.
What stands out about this piece is its varying complexity in texture and its lovely hand. Dead stock from a mill in France – we must add that this and its other color-way were shared by the great Susan Khalje in her Couture Store.
Made in France, 58″ wide, 68% Polyester/32% Viscose. The weight is versatile enough to make anything formal, a gown, jacket/coat, suit, pants, top a dress/skirt.
This extraordinary, would make a myriad of quite simple garments. Some inspiration (even though the fabric called for is a tad lighter) is the Misses S2247 from Simplicity -or- the vintage Kwik Sew K4172 – these are quick and easy straight dresses that would be lovely.
McCalls, PDM7665 a peplum jacket with a back yoke. These would be perfect but we would also like to see something longer for which we look to the Marfy no. 2251, a “men’s style coat” with closure.
Finally, a skirt, simple or pleated we like Vogue, Asymmetric ruffled skirt (V1957). Also see Vogue V1893 (Options B or B and C together!)
