Dress weight striped woven fabric, a warm look – Navy Blue stripe contrasting with a gradual array of Deep Red, Lavender Purple and Orange in a repeat.
The fabric hails from France, one of our favorites in the shipment. It is so striking but simple. A dress weight we call it – 79% Cotton/21% Polyester – there is drape, it wont wrinkle because of the poly composition. Partially reminds us of the hand of a lighter denim (no twill weave).
The repeat is 21 inches (but we are selling it by the yard).
Pattern Suggestions: This is an unusual fabric, that can allow for some interesting looks. Keep in mind, that the repeat is a recipe to make something really unique.
Vogue V9197, a dress that has stripe cut on separate grains. The color repeat with this design is not for everyone. That said, it would be fairly epic.
We saw an amazing use of the Calvin Wrap Dress from True Bias Patterns, yes with the stripe (and some pattern hacks). Also, the Bisque Trousers (and shorts) from Vivian Shao Chen.
One we came across is the Simplicity Mimi G Style S8558 (Options C and D) wide legged pant with an unlined top jacket. We think you could line partially with cotton/poly batiste.
The Waikerie dress from Muna and Broad would be a good look – the repeat could be timed to make a cool, sort of syncopated explosion of color.
McCalls PDM8213, a sundress pull over with strap – would make an inviting garment.
Butterick PDB6746 straight pencil skirt would also be a nice and simple was to display this glory of a fabric.
