Organza Brocade fabric, a lifted cloque pattern – this piece is unstoppably amazing. Large scale floral in a deep Purple, on a Black organza that is accented with a stripe of eyelash texture (made of Lurex). The floral are accented in Metallic Gold.
Sheer, airy and light weight. It drapes well.
We deem it art deco, flapper-like dance vibes.
It can be hard to pinpoint exactly what to use a lovely Organza Brocade for. You can narrow it down to formal wear of course – and we suggest having the mentality that one should treat organza jacquard like a dress, bottom or taffeta weight fabric (even though it is sheer). First of all, it can be lined and that will provide body. Secondly, its has the stiffness to hold flairs and pleats.
Thus, we suggest a few patterns that are outside the box.
A formal jacket would be the Burda Style Pattern 6041 Misses – Option B line. Simple enough to let the fabric do the talking/make the statement. In the same vein is the Vogue V1865.
The Lucy Dress from By Hand London has such a versatility to it in terms of what fabrics can be used. We love the look.
Kathryn Brenne has a lovely pattern Vogue 1746, a kimono jacket, loose fitting with a really cool pleated pair of pants. Some hacking may be involved because of the lifted pattern.
Vogue V9075 – gathered formal”ish” dress – Option A
