Cotton Blend Jacquard fabric, a lifted Black (what looks like it is painted) leafy floral pattern on a Gray, chambray background. Quite luxurious hand it has jacket or coat weight body, with enough flexibility and liquidity to sew up as a dress/skirt or even some tops.
The piece is finished with a subtle, Copper sheen that is quite exquisite and luxurious.
Dead stock from an NYC designer, it was their European mill sample yardage.
Pattern Suggestions: Quite a lot of uses for a jacquard of this weight and structure. One we always love to start with is the Closet Core Jasika Blazer. It is such a useful look that can manage more complex designs.
Vogue V1990 would be an amazing use of this fabric (and an amazing pattern) – a sort of long coat dress that would be quite formal.
The Upton Dress from Cashmerette Patterns is always a favorite. As they describe – it allows for many body types to be able to fit in more formal wear. We love that.
Another cool look would be the New Look N6545 – a Bomber Jacket/Varsity Jacket.
